Our Uniquely Human Experience
Understanding Unity
A deep awareness arises when we learn the discrete energies streaming within and around each of us. The human species is analogous to one river with unlimited streams. This transformative awareness recreates our perception of human relationships, moving beyond rigid notions of separate beings. We are individuals, but also the connected elements of something far more profound.
Consciousness as a Quantum Network
When we expose our self-imposed cultural and social divisions, human connectivity reveals as an extraordinary expression of a quantum field network where each individual is empowered to investigate their own purpose. We examine diverse viewpoints, contemplate the underlying unity that is innate to our humanness, and observe ourselves as a natural expression of our unified consciousness.
The conventional model of relationships, separate individuals trying to understand and connect with each other gives way to a radical recognition: separation is a uniquely human illusion, while a cohesive humanity is the self-obscured reality. Each of our interactions is an opportunity to defy ego-bias boundaries—to experience our integrated existence.
“The global workspace theory of consciousness proposes that there is a “global workspace” system underlying conscious experience. The global workspace is the publicity organ of the nerve system, and its content—which corresponds roughly to conscious experience—is distributed widely throughout the system. The brain is considered as a vast collection of specialized automatic processors, some nested and organized within other processors. Processors can compete or cooperate to gain access to the global workspace, enabling them to send global messages to any other system. Any conscious experience emerges from cooperation and competition between different input processors.”[1]
The Dissolution of Boundaries
The boundary between "my experience" and "your experience" becomes increasingly permeable from our comprehension of how we participate in creating each other through our mutual presence. The perceived solidity of separate selfhood vanishes, revealing the fluid nature of consciousness expression. What we experience as "my thoughts" and "your thoughts" are revealed as movements in the same field of emotional, energetic awareness.
Four Essential Energies
The primary transformative insights emerge naturally as the four essential energies—humility, gratitude, compassion, and harmony begin to influence without obstruction. We are these qualities; our natural state when bias-driven interference patterns lose potency.
· Humility dissolves the separate self that maintains the ego-bias boundaries, forming bias-free vision that allows recognition of unity. Without self-centeredness claiming experience as "mine," the artificial division between self and other naturally breaks down.
· Gratitude expresses as recognition of how we define and create each other. Human-to-human and human-to-nature relationships are creative collaborations; opportunities to observe our unified existence through expanded consciousness.
· Compassion allows direct immersion in empathetic effort, and comprehension of our infinitely existent unity—our ego-bias boundaries are discovered to be artificial.
· Harmony reveals the natural coherence existent within our unified consciousness, clearly establishing how differences and conflicts emerge from and return to our underlying unity. Perceived singular streams are recognized as one flowing river.
From Practice to Natural Expression
The evolution from conventional relationship to unified recognition follows a natural progression. In early stages, we consciously practice connection, communication, and understanding. We strive to bridge the perceived gap between self and other through attempts at perfecting the four qualities.
As we experience more depth in our consciousness expansion, the practices give way to natural recognition. Effort fades into a simple awareness of truth. We are each an element of a unified flow of consciousness energy.
The Living Reality
When this recognition becomes a living reality rather than conceptual understanding, every relationship transforms. Conflicts are correctly perceived as consciousness exploring tension within itself. Communication across boundaries is better understood as consciousness communicating with itself through different viewpoints.
Even the most ordinary interactions reveal their extraordinary nature:
· a conversation becomes consciousness, exploring different perspectives within collective field
· a touch becomes consciousness, experiencing through form
· a shared experience becomes consciousness, knowing through multiple vantage points
From Practice to Recognition
The personal consciousness journey explores the structure of influencing energies. We examine our ego-bias conditioning through observations and resultant emotions, and measure the energetic constructs of our inner dialogue.
Metaphor of a Single River
The metaphor of a single river with countless streams is more than poetic imagery. It describes the function of expanded consciousness relative to human-to-human and human-to-nature relationships.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do four essential energies emerge naturally rather than requiring cultivation practice?
The energies of humility, gratitude, compassion and harmony are inherent to our humanness. But our ego-bias conditioning inhibits the natural expression of those energies until we regain that attribute through inner work.
How does consciousness participation in the unified field serve collective rather than individual benefit?
Expanded consciousness participation benefits both the individual and the unified consciousness field. The energetic capacity of an individual grows and the collective consciousness is strengthened by developing individuals.
